About your customer account :

  • How can I create my customer account ?

The customer account is created during your first order, when you enter your contact details.

  • How do I log into my customer account ?

You can log in to your account by clicking on “My account” at the top of your screen.

  • What do I do if I’ve lost my password ?

In the “My account” section, click on “Lost password”, then simply enter your login or e-mail address.

  • How does the loyalty/points system work ?

How to leave a review after a puchase?

The review is only for customers who have buy a product.

About our products :

  • How are the pastels packaged ?

The pastels are sold in specially adapted boxes with honeycomb foam.
Arranged in cardboard cases or wooden boxes according to your choice.
Whether you choose a composition or detail.

  • What are the compositions categories ?

Our compositions are offered by theme (portraits, landscapes, …), by color, or arranged by renowned artists. You can also choose to compose your own range via the “Unit selling stick” section.

  • Where can I find the color chart ?

We no longer have a printed color chart, but in the “Unit selling stick” section you’ll find a photo of each pastel stick and a photo of its rendering applied to paper. Simply click on stick or shade.

  • Do you sell empty boxes ?

Empty cardboard cases of 25 and 50 are available in the online store.
We can eventually sell wooden boxes on request. Please contact us >.

  • Can I offer a gift voucher ?

Yes, on request, we can create a gift voucher for the desired amount.

  • Can I buy paintings on the website ?

The sale of works of art requires special attention, so if you would like to purchase a painting, please contact us > or visit our gallery in Montignac-Lascaux. Shipping is also possible under certain conditions.

About our workshop :

  • Where can I find your workshop calendar ?

Find all our available courses in the Workshop section of our website.
Updated regularly.

  • How can I register for a workshop ? / How do I know if there is still room in the workshop ?

The best way to register for a workshop is via our online store in the Workshop section. If the workshop is marked “In stock”, it means that there are still places available.

  • How is the room equipped ?

The room is air-conditioned and free-standing easels are available on loan.
Individual tables and chairs, sink, toilet with washbasin.
Full cleaning kit available.
Coffee maker, kettle, fridge and microwave oven are also available.

  • What equipment do I need to bring ?

The list of materials recommended by the teaching artist can be found in the description of the chosen workshop. If necessary, the Pastels Girault boutique will welcome you during opening hours.

About delivery :

  • How are your pastels protected for shipping ?

All our shipping packaging is custom-made.

  • I live abroad. Can I have my order delivered to my country ? How much does it cost ?

Yes, we regularly ship all over the world.
Shipping costs and VAT are automatically calculated in your shopping cart according to the weight of the package and the delivery address.

  • How can I track my order ?

When your parcel is shipped, you’ll receive an e-mail with a link to track its progress.

  • When will I receive my order ?

In mainland France, between 48 and 72 hours by Colissimo – La Poste.
Outside France, this varies from country to country.

  • What happens if I’m not there for the delivery ?

In mainland France, the carrier must leave you a delivery note and keep your parcel for two weeks.
Abroad, this may vary depending on the local carrier.

  • Can I return the product after receiving it ?

Yes, you can return it, as permitted by law.

  • What should I do if I haven’t received my order ?

One of your neighbors may have received your order, or important information may have been notified on the carrier’s tracking link. If you still can’t find it, don’t hesitate to contact us >.

About fees, payment and refunds :

  • What methods of payment are accepted ?

We accept credit cards, cheques, bank transfers, etc. However, for faster order processing, we recommend that you pay by credit card. Payment is 100% secure.

  • What are the additional taxes and customs charges if I have my order delivered to my country ?

Delivery costs depend on the weight of the parcel, and therefore on your choice in the order. They are calculated automatically in your basket, like VAT, when you enter the destination address.

  • Can I pay in several instalments ?

Our online payment system allows you to pay 3 times free of charge by credit card.
We can offer you 4 times free of charge by telephone.

  • How do I refund my order ?

About the production and composition of pastels :

  • What are your pastels made of?

Our pastels are made from a variety of clays and pigments. For several years now, no heavy metals have been used in the composition of our products.

  • What is the lightfastness rating of your pastels?

The technical data sheets for our pigments reveal ratings between 6 and 8 on the (0 to 8) scale of ASTM D4303 standard.

It’s worth noting that each of the shades may sometimes contain up to 6 or 7 different pigments, and as a result, the precise rating is excellent.

We are deeply committed to the selection of materials used in the composition of our pastels. Thanks to these choices, which adhere to strict standards to ensure the level of quality we seek and a long lifespan, Girault Pastels have been recognized for their high quality and excellent lightfastness for almost two and a half centuries.

We have pastels that were manufactured over a hundred years ago, an incredible heritage! They could still be used perfectly today because they have retained all their qualities of texture and resistance to light.”

About our gallery and studio visit :

  • What are the opening hours of the boutique/gallery ?

March to December : Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 18:00

June to September : Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 18:00

Otherwise : Open by appointment.

  • Do I have to pay to enter the gallery ?

No, entrance is free.

  • Can I visit the workshop ?

The workshop is not open to the public, as we are not yet equipped to receive visitors. However, we do have a video area in our boutique/gallery where you can find information about our production process, and where we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.

  • Do you receive groups ?

Yes, we’re used to welcoming groups to our gallery, and we have a very fine exhibition of French and foreign artists. There’s also a video area with visuals explaining how the work is made. On request, we can also organize a small dedicated conference.
