Until the 1940’s GIRAULT supplied many Fine Arts producers and major distributors.
Until 1987 GIRAULT pastels were sold in the shop inside the workshops and also distributed by Le Franc-Bourgeois under the name of PASTELS GIRAULT. They were then sold under the trade name of
QUENTIN DE LA TOUR until 1995.
The pastel fabrication technique, dating from the 16th century, combines extreme precision with a certain slowness of execution.
The pastel is composed of whites and pigments traditionally used in the fabrication of fine arts products.
The pigments used in the fabrication of the pastels contain no heavy metals.
The association of pigments creates the colour, the association of whites and pigments creates the pastel.
The relative hardness of the products is studied and calculated so as to be constant throughout the whole range.
